An intuitive charging experience wherever you are.

The Mercedes-Benz app features MB.CHARGE Public, giving you seamless access to all major public charging networks — that’s over 170,000 charging stations across the country. Plus, Mercedes-Benz vehicle owners who activate MB.CHARGE Public get 2 years of complimentary charging sessions at Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging stationsDisclaimer[6].

And when charging at home, drivers can conveniently plug in overnight, typically with special rates from your local utility.

From 10–80% in 30 minutes or less

Level 3, also called DC Fast Charging, is the fastest charging method and utilizes CCS1 or NACS connector types. Your vehicle display will show the station’s connector type and let you know if an adapter is required.

Up to 30 miles per 1 hour

Level 2, or AC Charging, is widely available at public stations nationwide using a J1772 connector type. At home, the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox is the perfect solution for convenient overnight charging, so you’re ready to roll the next morning.

2–4 miles per 1 hour

Level 1 charging uses a standard 120V household outlet. Given its limited output — only up to 1.9 kW — we recommend this method only when faster options are not available. Your EV comes with a flexible charging cable for Level 1 or 2 (240V) charging.

What’s a kilowatt (kW) and kilowatt-hour (kWh)?

A kilowatt (kW) is a unit of power that measures the charging speed of an EV. Your vehicle’s battery has a maximum charging
speed it can accept, and the EV charger has a maximum charging output it can provide — both are expressed in kilowatts.



A kilowatt-hour (kWh) is a unit of energy that measures your battery's capacity, similar to gallons in a gas tank. You may recognize kilowatt-hours from your electricity bill, where your utility tracks your electricity usage. When you recharge your vehicle, the amount charged is measured in kilowatt-hours.

Charge up with NACS

The CLA with EQ Technology features the NACS charging inlet for DC fast charging and comes with an adapter for compatibility with CCS1 chargers. For other all-electric vehicles featuring the CCS1 charging inlet, Mercedes-Benz drivers can purchase an adapter for charging compatibility at NACS stations, including over 30,500+ Tesla Supercharger stations.
