- open doors, thereby endangering other persons or road users.

If you leave children unattended in the vehicle, they could, in particular:
- releasing the parking brake.
- changing the gearbox position.
- starting the vehicle.
In addition, the children could also set the vehicle in motion by, for example:
Never leave children unattended in the vehicle.
When leaving the vehicle, always take the key with you and lock the vehicle.
Keep the key out of reach of children.
This also applies to the Digital Vehicle Key.
Apply
When the vehicle is stationary, push handle
.
.The red indicator lamp
(USA) or
(Canada) lights up on the driver display.
Note
The electric parking brake is only securely applied if the red(USA) or(Canada) indicator lamp is lit continuously.
Release
Switch on the vehicle.
Pull handle.
.The red indicator lamp on the driver display goes out(USA) or(Canada).
