Some individual features are available as standard equipment across the Mercedes-Benz line-up, while the Driver Assistance Technology Package is standard on the S-Class, EQS Sedan, EQS SUV, GLS, G-Class and AMG GT 4 Door EV, and can be added optionally on all other models.

Active Brake Assist

Route-based Speed Adaptation
& Active Speed Limit Assist

Route-based Speed Adaptation can help you navigate curves and turns by automatically slowing your vehicle for smooth passage before returning to the original set speed. Active Speed Limit Assist goes even further by adjusting your Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC® settings to match posted speed limits.

Active Steering Assist

This feature provides continuous steering support to help keep the vehicle centered in its lane by monitoring lane markings and surrounding traffic. Icon appearance may vary based on model.

Automatic Lane Change Assist

This feature adds driving comfort on the highway by automatically changing lanes to overtake slower traffic, making long journeys more relaxing. When the turn signal is tapped, this feature helps support smooth lane changes, provided traffic and road conditions allow.

Active Emergency Stop Assist

If the system detects driver inactivity — such as during a medical emergency or prolonged lack of steering input — it prompts the driver to take control. If the driver remains unresponsive, it gently slows the vehicle in its lane and alerts surrounding traffic. Traffic Sign Assist

Active Blind Spot Assist

Evasive Steering Function Plus

Evasive Steering Function Plus can support you if it detects a vehicle, cyclist or pedestrian in your path. Without changing lanes, the system can autonomously steer around objects partially in your lane and straighten back into position after the maneuver. Stop Sign & Traffic Light Assist

This system can help bring the vehicle to a smooth halt at stop signs and traffic lights. Availability varies by model.

Coming soon, MB. DRIVE ASSIST PRO will offer Mercedes-Benz's most advanced driver assistance technology to date- powered by 10 cameras, 5 radar sensors, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. At the touch of a button and with driver supervision, the vehicle can now navigate both highway and city streets—from parking lot to destination.

Where Parking Meets Precision.

PARKTRONIC with Active Parking Assist

Intelligence takes the wheel. This feature scans for available parking spaces and, with the push of a button, guides the vehicle into parallel or perpendicular spots — managing steering, braking and acceleration automatically. Additionally, the ultrasonic sensors can alert you if you get close to an obstacle, so you stay in control while enjoying added convenience. For all other models, the Driver Assistance Package is offered as standard or optional equipment and includes features like the DISTRONIC® system, Active Steering Assist, Active Lane Change Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Emergency Stop Assist and Traffic Sign Assist. Yes. If you own a 2026 CLA EV, 2027 CLA, GLB, GLC EV, GLE, GLS, S-Class, EQS Sedan or AMG GT 4-Door EV and your vehicle doesn't already come factory-equipped with them, you can purchase certain Driver Assistance features (like MB.DRIVE packages) through the Mercedes-Benz Digital Store. Simply log into the store with your Mercedes me ID to get started.

DISTRONIC® delivers intelligent adaptive cruise control that can help maintain a set distance to the vehicle in front of you. To enable it, locate a gray icon in your instrument cluster and press SET, and then the icon will turn green. If the icon is not present, press ON/OFF first, and then press SET.
Note: On newer models like the 2026 CLA EV, the ON/OFF icon may look slightly different.

Active Brake Assist can help prevent collisions or reduce their severity, should one occur. On the other hand, if the system detects inactivity, Active Emergency Stop Assist prompts the driver to take control and can slowly bring the vehicle to a stop if they remain unresponsive.

Active Lane Keeping Assist can help detect unintended lane departure by providing a warning and guide you back with steering intervention and tactile steering wheel feedback.
Active Steering Assist, on the other hand, can provide continuous, moderate steering support to keep you centered in your lane when Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC® is engaged. The system relies on lane markings and the vehicles ahead of it to help keep it centered.

The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) defines six levels of driving automation — from Level 0 (no automation) to Level 5 (full automation) — based on the driver's role and what the system can do. Levels 0-2 still require active driver monitoring, while Levels 3-5 progressively hand over control to the system, with Levels 4-5 being fully driverless. Mercedes-Benz currently offers three levels:
• Level 1: Driver Assistance – Systems that support specific tasks (example: DISTRONIC®)
