The suspension's independent front double wishbones improve tire contact. AMG-specific damping is driver-adjustable. The AMG Performance Package and new AMG Offroad Package PRO both include AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL, which features greater wheel articulation and Active Roll Stabilization.
Differentials make the difference

AMG DYNAMIC SELECT lets you fine-tune the throttle, engine-mount stiffness, shifting, damping and more via one button. Modes range from Comfort to Sport+, plus Sand, Trail and Rock, and an Individual mode you can customize. The AMG Offroad Package PRO adds two special modes of its own.

The AMG Performance steering wheel integrates capacitive touch controls on its twin spokes, plus AMG DRIVE UNIT performance controls. Its thick, flat-bottom rim can be trimmed in Nappa leather, or in Nappa or carbon-style trim with microfiber grips.
Easier going in the rough
The new OFFROAD COCKPIT combines the G's traditional differential lock buttons with other off-road controls in the center dash. The multimedia display above it lets you check key off-roading settings and information, as well as a clever "Transparent Hood" virtual view under the front of the vehicle. The vertical AMG grille bars and brush guard are both available in chrome and darkened finishes. Wheels range from standard 20s to forged 22s, some available in combination with the AMG Offroad Package PRO and AMG Performance Package.
